Walter and Avril have run their independent boutique furniture and interiors business for the past 22 years in the leafy iconic North London Village of Highgate. Having started off on a stall in the Camden stables, the quirky pretty building at 84 Highgate High Street became home to WCD in 1996, where they embarked on a retail journey rooted in providing great product and a personal approach to customer relationships.

Simultaneous to working from the Tufnell Park studio on bespoke projects for a variety of clients, the Highgate shop has been perfect for Walter Castellazzo's designs, showcasing a passion for collectable mid-century design, featuring drinks trolleys, chairs and cabinets.  Alongside other pieces that are up-cycled or upholstered without losing the integrity of the piece, they also offer a very personal style of eclectic home interior pieces and gifts searched out by Avril with love and passion. Hoping to transform homes into a comfortable chic, they are also very keen to promote and stock British, Irish and Scandinavian design, with a bit of whatever else catches their eye.

Walt is a passionate Italian, with a background in film set design. With an original eye for detail Walter creates pieces that are beautiful and timeless.

Walter's imagination is inspired from the natural, wild organic landscapes of South West Ireland to the heat haze of his native Puglia.  Food, film and uncountable design books fuel his love of making.

Let him inspire you...
